This is a great device for the price. It's easy to put in a hidden place in a car and it's easy to take out. I worried at first that the magnet wouldn't hold and may fall off onto the floor of the car, but it never did. It stayed secure. It worked really easily with Google Earth and was so easy to install on the computer. I was surprised by it working so well. The only downside of it is the batteries don't last that long -- I changed them out every 5 days because once on the 6th day, the lights on it went red, and I could not get my data out of it. And it's a bit cumbersome to change the batteries quickly because the screws are so small and there's a rubber thin square piece between the battery door and the device that comes off and won't stay put. Make sure you have some time to deal with this when you want to change the batteries. But overall, I would absolutely recommend this covert device to anyone who wants to know what path their loved one has taken over the past few days. Great buy! -- Great GPS Tracking Device
I bought this for my sister who was thinking that her husband wasn't where he said he was. As soon as I got the product I downloaded the program and tried it out. It didn't work and I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. We called the maker and it turns out they sent us the wrong CD-Rom. That was frustrating because I spent hours trying to figure out what I had done wrong. Anyway, once we had the correct CD-Rom in the computer it worked very easily. The tracking system go us to the general location but didn't have the exact address correct. All we had to do was to find my brother-in-law's car at one of the addresses on that street. So, it works but not exact. It did the job we needed it to do, though, and was worth every penny. -- Tracking System
This device is very accurate, the signal is strong and never lost. It lasts for more than 2 weeks with the regular lithium batteries. It is absolutely suitable for watching your car and your lovers thanks to its very strong magnet put under the car that is never be dropped out even in the extreme heavy vibration. The LAS-1505 is excellent for price, I got one here for $100 (Feb2010).
As noted the unit lacks power on/off and the torx bit screws are a bit of a pain, BUT use a 1/4" wide x 1" strip of marking tape between the battery and terminal and you can have an "on switch" when you need it. By doing so, unit is always at the ready when I understand our teen driver is about to get the car for the evening!
So far no surprises, either in functioning of the LAS-1505 or in unexpected visits by the kid to unknown destinations. -- LAS-1505 excellent for price, others in class better
