Just got this one and I am very happy with the paperles geocaching supported by this device. Unfortunatly Road trips are not possible unless you buy the software from Garmin wich is quite expensive. GPS data display and menu are great. -- Very good System for geocaching!

My husband and I are always venturing into the backwoods and onto strange and scenic waterways to fish and we thought it was time to invest in a GPS unit and enter the 21st century, so we bought the Oregon 400T. I think it has excellent features, but I don't know, because it does not come with any kind of operations manual. We downloaded the PDF file from (...) and printed our own, but it seems the directions in the manual are very sparse and don't go into any kind of detail. We know NOTHING about GPS units and are finding this process of learning how to use the unit to be very trying. We have spent several hours and 3 days on the internet trying to figure out how to get the unit to show contouring detail. We finally called Garmin and the techie was very knowledgeable and helpful, but couldn't stay on the line with us greenhorns forever, so we had to hang up.
We think we will enjoy using the unit if we ever figure out how to use it and figure out what all it can do. At this point, we are totally frustrated and it's sitting in the box on the kitchen table. We've followed the instructions for "planning a route" from point B to point C (with our present location being point A) about 50 times. The unit will only give us directions from point A (our present location) to point B or point C. I'm sure we'll figure it out eventually if we don't give up and send the whole mess back.

I would give it a five stars if it will stays on when switch from battery power to car power cord. It will restart itself and after a while it will shutdown which is very dumb especial you are driving. Yes, screen display is also horrible. You can't see when you're in the sun. Other than these little stuff, it's a awesome device. -- Almost 5 stars
