This was an upgrade for me from the Nuvi 260.
The lifetime map updates was one deciding factor in buying this unit.
I was faced with; either buy a map upgrade or buy a new GPS unit & this is what I settled upon.
It is faster at GPS lock than the 260 & it also has built in blue tooth that you can use to take incoming calls from your blue tooth enabled cell phone. I've had the 1390T for about 1 month now, but have only used it twice or so in the past 3 weeks. I can't say much about the traffic as it doesn't seem to do much for you. After going to the Garmin website it appears that MSN FM traffic is ceasing operation in favor of newer technologies of Wi Fi or phone based applications. I'd give the Traffic a zero, but they don't allow that option.

We've had the Nuvi 1390T for a month or so now and really like it. It's a good size, has great features and the bundled NuMaps Lifetime Update Subscription makes it a great value!
We live in Outstate MN, so the Jct View and Traffic Updates don't come into play for us unless we are traveling away from home. Of course, that is when those items really come in handy as most people are familiar with the junctions and traffic patterns near home.
We had some on screen advertisements pop-up recently while in the Minneapolis area. They're a bit annoying, but seemed to go away fairly quickly and didn't block a significant portion of the screen.
All in all, I really like this unit! -- Great GPS, Great Value
Device is as expected except is had some problems initially, did a freeze and wasn't able to clear it out without turning it off. Seems to be working ok but not impressed with traffic status. What has been given appears to either be delayed or no longer applies. -- GPS
