User Reviews about Bracketron UFM-300-BX Nav-Pack Weighted GPS Dash Mount Carrying Case
I use this for travel, as I rent cars frequently, however, if you are going to fly with it, be prepared for delays at security. TSA will open your suitcase, take the Nav-Pack apart, check it over thoroughly and rerun it through the x-ray machine. Happens every time. Other minor gripe: the adhesive on the velcro strip is not very strong. In fact, the velcro is stronger. First time I went to take the GPS out of the Nav-Pack the GPS came out and the velcro strip stayed. I had to glue the strip on. -- TSA doesn't like it
I have a Motorola GPS that comes with a window mount that turns out to be useless for my Toyota Venza. The Bracketron Nav-Pack is ideal in that I can place it on my dash board or console. The pack has enough weight combined with the rubber base to hold in place. I have not used it with a rental car but I don't anticipate any problems or have concern with placing the weighted pack in my carry on luggage. It works for me and should for you. -- Mount And Go
I puchased this from Amazon (verified) and have only used item for one long trip. It was great staying on the dash - did not fall off once. To use it as a carrying case is a pain and not very good at hiding on the person. I used an HP case I had from an old calc. Fits like it was made for the GPS and slips into pocket like case was made for the GPS. I would still buy it. With this downside, I would recommend purchase - and from Amazon (lowest price and excolent srevice). First unit was bad. Worked with Garmin tech support and determined unit needed to be returned. Amazon had new unit in my hands before I could get first unit to UPS. -- Sea Daddy rates GPS Dash Holder
my friend bought the same thing at radio shack he paid 43.00 , amazon is a deal on this . -- great deal
I've gone through four different GPS mounts now with the problem always being that the suction cup will fall off and the GPS will crash down to the floor while I'm driving. It was for this reason that I bought this product, since it doesn't have any suction cups involved, and so far I haven't had any trouble with it. The velcro holds the GPS in place just fine so that it doesn't fall down or wobble around. The speaker is in the back of the GPS which is pressed up against the velcro and the mount but it's not stifled and still is clearly audible.
I read reviews on here saying that there have been problems with it sliding off the dash; I'm not sure if this would have happened with me or not but just to make sure I bought a $2.00 "sticky pad" beforehand that you put on your dashboard and anything you put on the pad won't move from it...I put the GPS mount on there and it works like a charm.
The only con I can think of with this is that it's a bit hard to get the GPS charger plugged in to the bottom of the GPS without some difficulty and making it a bit of a tight squeeze. It's still doable though.
Lastly, I'm very glad I checked Amazon before buying this at a local store. The store (a chain department store) was selling it for $45.00 and thankfully I was able to get it from here instead for only $23. Highly recommended! -- So far the only GPS mount that I haven't had problems with
